Why Use Fertiliser?
Why is the precise application of fertiliser crucial? Proper nutrient application ensures optimal growth and performance for your lawn. Inadequate nutrients can result in a visibly hungry and undernourished lawn, requiring a nutrient boost to regain its lush appearance. Conversely, excessive fertiliser can lead to rapid growth, causing the accumulation of excess thatch. This may necessitate a renovation in spring and summer to remove the unwanted thatch buildup.
How Much To Use
What is the recommended fertilisation rate for turf? It is advisable to apply no more than 1.4kg of actual nitrogen per 100m² annually. For larger areas, such as 1,000m², the maximum recommendation would be 14 kg. It is crucial to adhere to these guidelines to prevent the accumulation of thatch.
